Update on possible Romspen rezoning application

March 1, 2020 -- Preserve Vistoso has confirmed that Charlie Bowles, Designated Broker of Bowles Realty and Investments, LLC, is representing a potential buyer for a portion of the former Vistoso Golf course owned by Romspen. Bowles is a resident of CenterPointe and Vice President of the CenterPointe HOA Board. He has invited sub-HOA Presidents from communities that intersect with the former golf course to a meeting the week of March 10 with Romspen representatives and a potential buyer. Preserve Vistoso representatives will attend the meeting and share the information we receive. We asked Bowles to schedule meetings with additional affected neighborhoods not represented by a sub-HOA.

Preserve Vistoso also was informed that Romspen has adjusted plans to file its pre-application rezoning paperwork with Oro Valley the week of March 25. We do not have any details about the filing, but once the rezoning plans are filed, we will share that information with you. The Town will schedule community and public meetings and we will let you know those dates. The deadline for any rezoning applications with Oro Valley is the end of April. To access information about the rezoning process go to:

https://orovalleyaz.gov/sites/default/files/media/docs/2017/rezoning-process-guide-revised-1172017.pdf .

We are committed to sharing with our members any verifiable and non-confidential information we have about the potential development of the former Vistoso Golf Course.

Preserve Vistoso continues to inform community and Town officials that we believe that the best use of the former golf course property is to turn it into a nature preserve and community trail. It is our chance to save the last remaining part of the Sonoran Desert in Oro Valley. The property is zoned as recreational area and should remain that way.

We also are actively participating in the Town’s Parks and Recreation survey to develop plans for the future. About 40 percent of Town’s population resides north of Tangerine, but we are lacking in Town parks and recreational areas. We hope you will continue to tell your neighbors about the need to convert the former golf course into a community recreational area. We also hope you will encourage friends throughout Oro Valley to join Preserve Vistoso preservevistoso.org.

Remember to Vote in VCA Election

Please remember to vote in the Vistoso Community Association (VCA) election. The VCA is the master association for Rancho Vistoso. You will receive email information from vistoso@ivotehoa.com. Since this is a new email address and not the donotreply@fsresidential.com used for weekly e-mails it is possible that the voting invitation could go to junk mail. Any questions email Colleen.holland@fsresidential.com. Or you can call the VCA at 520 354-2729.
